There are more elaborate and fancy pumpkin pies. This way will always be my favorite.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees
We start by making a basic pie crust. You’ll need flour, salt, butter and water.
1 -1/4 cups of flour
About this much salt
Mix salt and flour together with a fork
A little less than half a stick of butter
Smush
When adequately smushed you should have something resembling this. You don’t want huge chunks of butter leftover
Add too much water and mix with a fork
Dagnabit! You don’t want dough to be super sticky like this
Add flour a little bit at a time until you get a nice malleable dough ball.
You can then roll the dough out with a rolling pin, or if you forgot to clear an area like me, just smush it out in the pan with your hands. Let that sit while you prepare the pumpkin.
Things needed: Can of pumpkin, sugar, cinnamon(or other preferred spices)2 eggs and a can of evaporated milk.
Dump can of pumpkin into bowl.
Add about 3/4 cup of sugar
Then around a teaspoon of cinnamon
Stir those 3 ingredients together
Then add egg
Then add other egg
Add evaporated milk
Stir, then poor into crust
Put into oven for 15 minutes at 425
When the buzzer goes off, reduce heat to 350 and set for 45-50 minutes
Proceed to wait impatiently
When the buzzer goes off stab the center with a knife. If it comes out clean you’re good to go.
Wait til it cools off and enjoy. :)

The absolute best! With whipped cream.

This simple pumpkin pie is still my favorite. Gonna make it today so I don’t have to screw with it while cooking everything else tomorrow. This is the first year we’re doing this since my daughter got diagnosed with celiac. I have a gluten free pie crust flour that follows the same classic pie crust directions, hopefully it works OK.

#Recipelopnik. I sometimes wonder how many people who “don’t like pumpkin pie” have never had a good one.

I had to go back out for whipped cream. :(
But all is good now.

Thanks for this epic recipe - I love it - and have copied the entire episode into a Word document for mine own useages.
Now I ask of you (please-please-please) provide all of us (who might be gazing at these beautiful pie) with a single NEW picture of your magnificent pie except without those cookies but WITH that shiny fork AND a nice super-sploogle of whipped cream upon your scrumptious pie. Thanks to you for all of this sharing from your mom.
Also, you might just consider a slightly different take and make this style of your wonderful pie except with sweet potato or even with purple yams. I look forward to more or your really great photographs. Thanks again!
PS: If you were to set that pie near an open window, I would surely steal it.

You bastard. You’re baiting me with visual information, backing it with written information and getting me to succumb!
Ok. I’m in. All in. I think a Nitro Obsidian Stout with Hagan Daz vanilla and a local rum would be a good combo.

You as well. Thanks!
